When you install the .zip version I believe it doesn't touch the windows 
registry for anything accept file associations (I may be wrong).

Mozilla makes it's own registry and places it in your windows directory. 
  Just search for moz*.*.  For a complete list of files mozilla makes 
and where they go, check out the release notes of the most recent 
release.  In this case 0.9.4 <http://www.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla0.9.4/>

Just scroll down until you see the yellow box.
