I bet that Java is crashing on you. The thing is that the Java plugin 
for Linux doesn't like it when it finds out that its running on Windows 
(bcos it looks at the UA string). The way out would be to use Illsley's 
UA toolbar or bclary's script after starting Mozilla but revert back to 
the original (non Windows) UA before quitting.
