There are some new features. In the Mail/News window there is a search bar at the top of the message area that lets you just show the messages with a certain criteria, kinda handy, but I don't know when I've used it. There is also web page icon support, while trivial, it does help when your browsing with tabs, because you now have color icons (if the pages support it) in the tabs. These new features and bug fixes, if I were you, I'd go to 0.9.6. As far as I've heard, I havn't heard of anything that worked in 0.9.5 that doesn't work in 0.9.6.
