QuickTime -> Edit ->Preferences->QuickTime Settings->Browser 
Plug-in(should de default on drop-down, QuickTime Settings is also an 
option in the context menu of the plugin in Mozilla) Open MIME Settings, 
expand Images, uncheck what you don't what Quicktime to handle.  I was 
poking around Bugzilla, and besides the fact that people don't think 
this procedure should be necessary(Mozilla should look at its 
capabilities before asking for help), it doesn't work on OSX or Windows 
with versions of Quicktime before 5.0.2, but you are using linux... Look 
at Bugs 103934 and 69719. Another question, does anyone know what the 
preferred settings for Quicktime are so that Mozilla opens everything 
that it can natively???
