I don't use the personal toolbar, as I'd rather just have the extra screen real estate, but I have noticed that when I empty my cache the favicons in my bookmarks are all gone. Seems like a waste of bandwidth to keep downloading them, even though it's a small file. I'd rather have an option to keep them elsewhere so they're persistent. The point is to make it easy to find your bookmarks, but if they keep reverting to the default, it defeats the purpose.
