I asked this in n.p.m.win32 but got no reply until yet. May be here is
someone who could help.

Tnx a lot in advance!

I've got a problem similar to that Christophe Veber described.
I had Win98 running and installed W2K on another PArtition for a smooth
migration from one System to the other.
I installed Netscape 6.2.1 and created my profile. Then i copied over
the old profile content to the new one. I lost alle eMail on the new
account, had several default SMTP servers and a lot of other
undescriptable problems. I helped myself by deleting doubled entries and
korrecting the path entries inside the server settings for pop, IMAP and
SMTP. One after Another the eMails popped up again and now it seems all
data is back up.
But some Problems are left and I hope anybody can help me out there.

My Netscape doesn't save any setting of window sizes or positions.
Anytime I start it up I hav the same small window in the left upper
corner of my desktop and I had to manually resize it and disable the
Sidebar. That is the same in the eMail part of Netscape. Folders are to
small so I can't identify them and I had to resize all windows. Even the
Settings of what to display in the message thread window aren't saved.

The other problem may depend on the first one. If i post a news I get a
messages that it was sent, but cannot be saved to my local Sent folder.
When I edit the news-Server-settings (Copies and Folders) and click ok
Netscape forgets what I've set up. If I again look insider the settings
the old defaults where shown.

I had a look inside the prefs.js and wondered if there are two ways of
describing path information:
On one line I found mailto:/C|windows/.../...
and on the other line if find mailto:C://xxx//yyy//....
May that be the problem? Wrong path descriptions, and if, what is the
correct way?

And where does Netscape save the settings for this general things like
window positions and display settings?

Thanks in advance for any help.
