When I try to open Netscape 6.2.1 for the first time after upgrading from Netscape 4.79 I get this error message: "Could not initialize the browser's security component. Please check that this directory has no read /write restrictions. The most likely cause is problems with files in your browser's profile directory"
I found no apparent problems with any profile. No read/write restrictions in any directory either in 6.2.1 or 4.79. The error message is confusing and I don't know what to try next. Has anyone any suggestions? Must I do a brand new install with a brand new profile? I hate to lose my emails and bookmarks.
