That's odd. I've never seen behavior like that. I hope someone else will have a
simple solution for this, because I've been using Mozilla for a long time
happily.

By the way, importing bookmarks is a no-brainer: just rename the old
"bookmark.htm" file into "bookmarks.html" and put it into your Mozilla profile
directory.
