My prefs.js file specifies a particular save directory on two lines as
follows.

user_pref("browser.download.dir", "C:\\story\\wp\\");
user_pref("browser.download_directory", "C:\\story\\wp\\");

Can someone, anyone explain why Mozilla insists on either using the
"My Documents" directory or, more often, the "Windows" directory when
I press Control-S to save a page. This behaviour is very frustrating
and time consuming as I have to manually change the directory for
every text file I wish to save.

If I download an .EXE or a .ZIP file it goes to the specified
directory.

Why doesn't the Control-S do the same thing. I hate programs that try
to put more junk in the "Windows" dir.
