I have it disabled in my prefs manually and it's amazing how many sites
still display icons due to them possesing <link> tags. Everything from
my bank to some 'backwater' private site I once visited.
I reckon the more we wait the more prolofic <link> usage will get and
the less of a 'need' /favicon.ico will seem to be.
