Hello, I had another thought to add on to all the pointless flaming. How about adding a meta tag (reminds me of the Smart Tag stuff :-/ ) or a http header which tells Mozilla _not_ to search for favicon.ico?
There are a lot of people not wanting favicon.ico requests, but not wanting to create icons (whether it be favicon.ico or other <link>ed icons) either. These should have the ability to express so in their html pages. What I don't know is: - is it standards compliant to create a meta tag for this purpose (I suppose so) - is it possible to do the alternative way through an own http header line? (this might become very messy, but I suppose this would make it either to apply this setting to the whole site) Regards, Sren Kuklau -- This post written in MozillaNews, to prove JTK that it indeed works - a lot better (especially FASTER!) than Outlook Express ever did.
