What I do is something like this: The other day I was reading my
tech/3d gaming sites in one window. In that window, I had multiple
tabs, m3dzone.com, the-cad.com, maxreboot.com, etc. In another window I
was reading stuff about the singer/songwriter Michelle Branch. I had
michellebranch.net, michellebranch.com, and ticketmaster.com open in
that window. I had another window open looking for an old SNES ROM i
wanted to find (sadly, my last SNES controller has bit the dust), and I
had about 8 tabs open there. I could alt+tab through the windows
depending on the general theme of a window (nerd stuff, music, and my
desperate hunt for Breath of Fire 2), and when I found the right window
I could look through the tabs associated with that topic. No tabs and
I'd have had a dozen windows open and I'd have to tab through them all
to find anything useful. Tabs rock my socks, I don't know what I'd be
doing without them
