Looks like we have joy, here. Download appeared to both commence and complete; what looked like an "Installing" message flew past too quickly to be read; I can now enter the bowels of Yahoo without getting the <mumble> "socket" <mumble>" error; and all seems to be well in Whoville, once more. Thank you. Am I thinking unclearly -- or is hitting "Stop" to get that download *started* sort of an RPN version of Win9x's counterintuitive Click- Start-To-Begin-Stopping eccentricity? :) -- Holden
