The "most likely bad for your eyes" part you just wrote is just silly. 
How can you prove that? Have you even read that anywhere? :)

Anyway, ClearType is for LCD screens, but it makes any font look 
wonderful on any screen, provided you have a fairly high resolution. On 
my 19" screen with 1080x1024 pixels, it's a charm.
