I tried, here are all font-relates entries from prefs.js:
user_pref("font.language.group", "x-western");
user_pref("font.min-size.fixed.x-western", 20);
user_pref("font.name.cursive.x-central-euro", "adobe-avant garde gothic-iso8859-2");
user_pref("font.name.cursive.x-unicode", "adobe-avant garde gothic-iso8859-1");
user_pref("font.name.cursive.x-user-def", "adobe-avant garde gothic-iso8859-1");
user_pref("font.name.cursive.x-western", "adobe-courier-iso8859-1");
user_pref("font.name.fantasy.x-central-euro", "adobe-avant garde gothic-iso8859-2");
user_pref("font.name.fantasy.x-unicode", "adobe-avant garde gothic-iso8859-1");
user_pref("font.name.fantasy.x-user-def", "adobe-avant garde gothic-iso8859-1");
user_pref("font.name.fantasy.x-western", "b&h-lucidux serif-iso8859-1");
user_pref("font.size.fixed.x-central-euro", 20);
user_pref("font.size.fixed.x-unicode", 20);
user_pref("font.size.fixed.x-user-def", 20);
user_pref("font.size.fixed.x-western", 20);
user_pref("font.size.variable.x-central-euro", 20);
user_pref("font.size.variable.x-unicode", 20);
user_pref("font.size.variable.x-user-def", 20);
user_pref("font.size.variable.x-western", 20);
but it didn't change anything. I've put a screenshot at

It's not purely the content I'm worried about, it's also the interface.
Mozilla happens to show the same too-small font in google's input box,
in the status line at the bottom and also in the URL-input-box.
Thanks for your help,
