I had the same problem as that I think that was with the 0313 and 0314 nightlies, and in addition to that the proxy authentication was broken around 0313. I had to setup proxomitron so I can connect. It seemed that mozilla was not sending proxy auth or sending blank user/password for prozy auth =(
