On my Red Hat 7.2 system, Mozilla 0.9.9 is printing italic fonts as
Helvetica normal, rather than Times Roman italic. I have the
display set as Helvetica (sans-serif), but I am assuming printing fonts and
display fonts continue to be separated (in other words, what you
see isn't always what you get) in Mozilla as they have been.

The printer is an HP LJ 2100M, a true PostScript printer.

Print Preview shows the fonts as Helvetica, and shows the italic
fonts as slanted. It looks a bit ugly and doesn't fully reflect the
printed page but, again, I am assuming that's because of the
what-you-see-isn't-always-what-you-get nature of Mozilla in the *NIX world.

I cannot seem to find *any* location where the fonts for printing
are determined. I hope they're still not hardcoded as they were in
Netscape 4! I have also not been able to find any posts or bug
reports that would be relevant. Linux font HOWTOs, etc., also
haven't been helpful.

Am I missing something obvious? Is there somewhere else to look?

Generally speaking, Moz 0.9.9 is a big improvement over the stock
0.9.2.1 that came with the RH 7.2 OS, but this wrong-font
substitution is an annoyance, made even greater by the inability to
simply define what fonts should be used for printing.
