What I would like to know is whether DJGPP can do this as well, since it 
too is open-source.  Of course, the Borland compiler is free anyway...

Personally, I know very little about C++ (I'm a Java person at heart), 
but this idea just makes sense to me.  What is the point of having 
cross-platform, open-source software that is so dependent on MFC and 
that requires Visual C++ to compile?
