<pedant>ONLY in XHTML.  Of course, documents which aren't well formed 
will: a) probably break in NS 4.x and b) may not give you what you 
expect-be sure you know what you're doing when you omit end tags.</pedant>

Use <URL:http://validator.w3.org/>; if your document validates, you should 
be good to go.
