The difference is the DOCTYPE. Untitled-1 has no DOCTYPE while
Untitled-2 has an XHTML Transitional DOCTYPE. This is causing Untitled-2
to be rendered strictly according to standards in Mozilla. This means
that all images will be treated as true inline elements and therefore be
subject to CSS inline box rules. The extra space you are seeing is due
to space being left below the images for the text descenders, and above
the images to complete the line-height.

You have two choices:

1) Remove the DOCTYPE declaration from all your pages or use a DOCTYPE
that doesn't invoke standards mode (see
http://www.people.fas.harvard.edu/~dbaron/mozilla/doctypes).

2) (better:) Use CSS to remove the images from inline flow: add
style="display:block;" on the images that you don't want to have extra
space above and below. I've also found that adding the rule
td > img:first-child:last-child {display:block;}
to the stylesheet works in most cases (but isn't foolproof.)

Good luck
