Hi all,

This is my first post, so go easy on me :) I have a question about a use
for gecko/NGLayout that I was thinking about, and I was wondering
whether the experts here thought it would be (in order) possible,
relatively easy , and useful to use gecko or NGLayout to vaidate how
html will eventually be rendered.

What I mean by this is that the user (me) would have some way to specify
constraints (like width & height) on tables, frames, table entries,
etc., and then use gecko to tell me whether any of these constraints
would be broken in rendering for a reasonable browser (for some
definition of reasonable).

This would be extremely useful as a means of automatically testing the
output from a cms, where there could be a large volume of pages
generated, and not all of them could be manually checked for goodness
under normal circumstances. It'd be nice to have a test-bed of a few
fonts, a few font sizes, etc. and say "layout-test page
page-constraints", and get messages where gecko's layout attempt widens
the field of a table because of some  es, for example.

So - is it possible, if so, how long would it take, how would one go
about it, and would it be worthwhile/useful/wanted?

Cheers,
Dave.
