Hi!

The menu is appended to the web pages upon loading.

Ah.  Then there is no way to prevent it getting zoomed.

Could I find out the zoom factor and compensate
the effect?

And Gecko doesn't let me position elements
overlayed in a toolbar or similar over the content
frame.

I seem to recall roc doing some work on transparent windows that would let you do this.... Not sure how far along that is.

That would solve a lot of problems (frames, unwanted scrollbars, zooming, etc). Where can I contact roc?
