hi there,

recently i had a discussion on a newsgroup about a different behaviour
of internet explorer 6 and mozilla 1.2.1/1.3 (both for windows).

check this test page:
http://www.deelan.com/bugz/divheight.htm

nevermind the text, i'll translate here:
"to the #area <div> element has declared a height of 80%, but mozilla
refuses to extend the height of the <div>, even if <body> has an height
of 100%. on the contrary IE extend div's height up to 80% of available
space."

i'm very confused and i would like to understand why there's
such diference between the two browsers. i often noticed
height percentages fail while used with block elements. in this
case <body> does not take all available browser space even
if height:100% is specify in the CSS rule. i read people
are throwing a absolute positioned <div> as main container
for the #area <div> and successully extend #area height,
bu i wuld like to understand why using body as container
fails in moz and not in IE.

the next step would be able to align charlize image to the
bottom of the #area div. but, that's a different
story.

thanks in advance.
