I'd like to be able to modify text underneath the mouse cursor. The modifications I have in mind go beyond those allowed by CSS (uppercase, lowercase, etc...). I would like to be able to have these changes occur in TEXTAREAs and possibly in the rest of the HTML.
What might be the best way to go about doing this? Cross-platform isn't a big goal at the moment so using a Win32 native control would be fine (though perhaps not ideal).
You mean you want to modify text as the mouse cursor moves over it? Or you want some command that modifies the text currently under the mouse cursor?
