This is a problem with Mozilla 1.5 specifically. Please visit the sample page, http://domapi.com/examples/tree.htm, expand the tree node "domapi", then click on any of the child nodes. Notice that the folders become 1/2 cut off and the image doesn't re-draw itself. As soon as you resize the page a little bit the whole thing is fixed. Although what you're looking at is a DHTML item, the problem is not with this component. Works fine on 1.6 and up, as well as those "other" browsers (ie, opera). I've also experienced similar problems with other things on moz1.5 Solution so far has been to "jiggle" the window - make it larger by 1pixel and then back to smaller by 1 pixel to force a re-draw.
I cannot move away from 1.5 to newer version. Is there a command internal to mozilla to force a redraw, similar to what happens during a resize??
