Would it be a large task to use Gecko for parsing HTML documents in
order to determine the visibility of the text inside?

For example:

-Text with small font sizes and low contrast colors is low-visibility.
-Text with large font sizes and high contrast colors is
high-visibility.

There is also the question of text hidden behind another layer in the
foreground and text that is clipped and not shown when the HTML is
rendered.

No matter which way I look at this, I can't see that it is easy.

The best I can do is approximate the easier parts of the problem and
make sure the rest is handled in a fairly elegant manner.

Could Gecko help at all or am I better of using something else or
writing a solution from scratch?

I'm a single developer able to devote about 21 working days to the
problem.
