Hello,
I hope I have the right forum to discuss this. I'm using the release 1.7.2 of seamonkey and the latest patched version of IE 6.x on Windows 2000 SP4 (+ uncounted MS patches).
The CSS of the right-hand side of http://www.safesquid.com/htmldoc/index.html specifies the "Terminal" monospaced bitmap font. Microsoft IE 6.x chooses what looks like the 10 point version of the font (I don't know what the actual bitmap size is), which is legible, while Mozilla seamonkey 1.7.2 seems to scale the font to something resembling a 9 point size, which is illegible. What actually is going on here with the selection of fonts? Is Mozilla doing the right thing, or MS IE? Of course, choosing a platform specific font like "Terminal" is a problem of the web site, but I'm just curious about the rendering differences of browsers, and whether this could be a bug in Mozilla.
GIFs of the browser renderings may be downloaded at http://free.hostdepartment.com/m/mjdl/
