hi there,
please load up this link in Mozilla (or Firefox): <http://www.deelan.com/temp/bugz/margin.html>
The blue band on the top is a repeated-x image, placed as background in the HTML element.
Then we have a sample image on the left as a background applied to the BODY element.
I cannot understand why there's a gap between the two backgrounds. It seems caused by the #main's "margin: 50px auto" property. To my understanding if margin is applied to a DIV and BODY has a margin: 0 value background image it should overlap the HTML background. Am i
missing something obvious here?
The strange (to me) behaviour it's consistent across Safari, Opera and Mozilla.org browsers. It fails on IE6, but IIRC IE does not apply styles on HTML elements at all.
Tested with Firefox (UA String: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040911 Firefox/0.10.1)
thanks in advance.
