This newsgroup is mainly devoted to the Mozilla license. LGPL is quite different. However, your question is quite general and would apply to either license. For a real answer you'd have to ask a lawyer, but since courts have held that natural language translations of copyrighted works (e.g. a French version of Harry Potter) are derived works you could make a strong case that a computer language translation of a copyrighted program is a derived work, and if so it would be bound by the LGPL terms. There may be court cases that apply here, but not being a lawyer I don't know about them. -Dan Veditz
