My question is mainly regarding section 3.6, and what has been
practically interpreted as a "conspicuously included" notice of the
inclusion of MPL Covered Code.
I would say that "conspicuously included" means that a user will come
across it in normal use of the program. Therefore, inclusion in the
About box counts, but a small text file three directories deep inside
your program directory called beware_of_the_leopard.txt probably doesn't.[0]
If I knew how to satisfy this requirement with minimal changes to my
application GUI and documentation, I wouldn't be posting the question
here. I am not asking for legal advice, but what specific steps you
and/or other developers have taken to meet this requirement in your own
products. Example applications currently in the field would be most
appreciated.
Most applications I've come across use the About box, or possibly a
clearly marked and well-linked Help page.
