Hi,

I've been using Beonex 0.6 as my everyday browser and mail/news client
for some time. Here are a few comments on the mail/news part:

- In part of the mail/news window where the headers of the currently
displayed message are displayed, it isn't possible to mark any text.
This is super annoying, because it isn't possible to copy & paste the
subject or date from an email.

- I like the feature that all headers are displayed when clicking in the
headers field. That's something I missed in Netscape 4.x.

- The Search->Search Mail/News messages is buggy. When searching mail
messages, it often simply doesn't find emails even though they obviously
match the search pattern. Judging from disc activity, I have the
impression that Mozilla sometimes doesn't even start searching when
clicking the 'search' button.

- Pressing the _middle_ mouse button on an URL displayed in Mail/News
doesn't work

- Newsgroup messages (not emails) are randomly displayed incorrectly (as
source without any wrapping and with some special characters in betwen)

- When moving the scrollbar 'knob' in the list of messages in mail/news,
the message list doesn't scroll in realtime. Instead, it jumps to the
selected part only after releasing the mouse button. This isn't practical.

- Is this a bug or a feature (if it's a feature, it should be possible
to disable it, it bugs me :)): Mozilla wraps outgoing messages to 72
chars all right. But when I view my own newsgroup postings, they're
wrapped to the window width (thus, there are often more than 72 chars
per line!), and not displayed with a 72 chars max per line. But in the
source, the line length is 72 chars as expected.

- Finally, a question - can we expect a major speedup of the mail/news
interface for later Mozilla versions? Mail/news is sooo slow, especially
when switching from one folder to another. Also, when I click on a
message in mail/news, there's a huge delay (I'd guess about 50-100ms)
until the message is actually displayed.

Generally, I'd say I'm very happy with Mozilla. Already now, it runs
much more stable then almost all Netscape 4.x releases (with the
exception of the very latest ones, which are quite stable, too) on my
system. The fact that I have so much to criticize is just because I use
Mozilla many hours per day, each day :).

I'm sure lots of the stuff I mentioned is already in Bugzilla; but I
don't have the time to figure out how to use it... I just thought I'd
let you guys know about my experiences.

bye,
Tillmann
