Hi everyone,

First off I'd like to say thanks for a mail client that's really
advanced. I switched from Netscape mail which I'd been using since v1 :)

I'm using Win2K, Mozilla 0.6, on a 1Ghz Athlon with 128MB ram. I have a
few comments/questions. Why does it take 2-3 seconds to bring out the
Compose dialog? Also, the most annoying thing to me is when messages in
my mailbox are redownloaded twice. For example, I'd get my mail. Then
for the whole day I'd be out at work, but I'll check my mail using PINE
and read some of the messages on the server. Then when I come home,
Mozilla will get the new email AND will redownload older email for a
second time. Why does this happen, and what can I do to work around this?

Another comment is, can I set up the headers to only display the date
and not the time that messages come?

Finally, I'm wondering if any of you can tell me how much effort it is
to begin fixing stuff in Mozilla (specifically the mail part). I'm
pretty knowledgeable with C/C++, MFC, Win32, and I've been a developer
for a number of years. I'd like to contribute, but I don't have a lot
of time to spend learning your framework (I wish I did though). How
much time would it take for me approximately to be familiar enough to
start contributing?

Thanks,

John
