I've tried e-mailing Netscape support on this, with no response. Somebody over there needs to know about this serious problem. Importing a large profile from Netscape 4 (large meaning 10-20 thousand e-mail messages) literally destroys a huge portion of Windows 98. No hard disk errors are reported by ScanDisk or Norton Utilities. The files are just gone. After re-loading Windows 98, I was able to duplicate the problem. There are tons of temporary files created, so my guess is that these files somehow tromped over the top of many Windows files. Windows did not crash or anything, but it would not boot again after it was shut down. Win.com and many others, were gone. I don't know if the mozilla group did this particular piece of code, but please pass this information on to whomever. I'm willing to discuss this further, with more detailed information. I'm a big Netscape fan. This is very disappointing. Please contact me via e-mail with any questions or comments.
