"News" does not retain settings...

On the 12/14 Windows build, I note that "news" still does not retain settings
in re displaying only new messages. When I enter the program and head to
"news," I get all the old, greyed out messages from days past, along with
whatever new messages there are. I have many times instructed the program to
show only new messages, but the selection never sticks. 

This is a known problem?
