nope, it's in there. (unless you mean push auth, see below)
If the news server requests your username and password, you'll get the
dialogs prompting you for them, and they'll be stored in the password
manager.
push auth ("force authentication, send it to the server even if it
doesn't ask for it") isn't implemented. there are bugs on this, use
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org to find them. query for "push auth".
