Mail Notification Utility?

Is there a mail notification utility available that will work with 
Mozilla, or is there one planned as an addition to the Mozilla build?

Apart from the apparent lack of this utility, I have found the Mozilla 
mail client to be excellent, and I use it in preference to NS 4.76 even 
without this utility.
