Hi!

Since generations the mail client has a problematical "feature". It may
be misconceived as user friendly feature, but in fact it bugs users
(that cannot connect) and administrators (that have to kludge their
servers).

The supplied user name for POP mailboxes is cut at the AT-sign. So
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]" is actually (and silently!) chopped to
"marian.eichholz".

There are may providers that use the e-mail-address as POP login for
good reasons.

What about these changes:

/1/ If the user supplies somewhat like "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" she is prompted,
that this is obviously her account name and if it shall be cut to
"user".

/2/ If she wants the full form, it is used.

/3/ If the name is misspelled, it can be entered again, without the need
to delete and re-create the whole account.

Any enhancement in this direction will shurely appreciated!

Yours sincerely

Marian Eichholz
