I noticed that if I use imap and keep messages on the server that, after
reading all the messages and deleting some of them, compacting the
folder would sometimes make messages appear as new that I hadn't seen
before. For quite a while I thought it was a mozilla bug but it is
actually mozilla issuing a fetch command immediately after an expunge.
I see that this is also 4.x behavior so I can understand that this is
compatible behavior. What I don't understand is why this happens at all.
It can certainly surprise users (it did me) so users may complain about
mozilla being broken. Surprising users seems like a bad idea.
