Please make sure the account or accounts for which you want to get
messages downloaded automatically at startup, have the pref "Log onto
this account startup" turned on in your Server Settings (Edit->Mail/News
Account Settings and select <account>->Server from the leftpane). In bug
66460, we are still discussing about the state of this pref for default
accounts..
You might have known this already, just letting you know incase startup
is not is the concern. If you want mailnews app to download messages
automatically while in the session, then you should have Biff turned on.
You will find this option in the same panel as above (Check for new
messages for every X minutes). That should get messages downloaded
automatically after the time you have chosen.
