yes, this is a common request. see #63389, #65651, and #13832.
it isn't impossible to do. It's just not a high priority. A lot of
work is going into performance right now.

Agreed. The more things we can import, the better. And, since the
import code lives in the libimport.so component, you shouldn't be
paying the for the bloat until you use it.
