Need way to remove old news message headers

my profile directories are starting to get very bloated with old 
news headers. NC4 had a pref to automatically remove mesage 
headers that were:

1. keep all messages
1. older than x-days
2. keep only the x newest headers
3. keep only unread headers

Is there a plan to implement this before my hard drive explodes?

Is there a bug number for this?
