Return Receipts

Are Return Receipts going to be implemented at all in Mozilla any time
soon, either requesting or responding to them?
Reading bugs 16241, 39770 and 69126 seems to indicate that this is not a
priorty for Mozilla's Mail/News. Bug 16241 is marked as Future, does
this mean that it's not being considered for Moz 1.0. much less 0.9.x?
As someone who requests Return Receipts on all mail messages (NC 4.75),
this is of great interest to me.
