send failure

The last couple of CVS builds I've done (Linux), and specifically the 
ones with c/o dates of 03 Apr 2001 11:42:08 PDT and
04 Apr 2001 14:34:03 PDT, do not allow me to send mail messages. I just 
get an alert box with "Message send failed" or something like that, and 
then my composition window (fortunately) returns so I can paste my text 
into the text editor and send it with an earlier version that doesn't 
have this problem.

Anyone else seen this, and if so, is there a bug open on it?
