I'm not empowered either (I use mozilla doggedly, with love and patience, and
lurk on the newsgroups and sites), but I hate this particular bug. I see it in
straightforward mail too.
I'm averse to the (delete msf, rebuild) option as often my rebuilds hang (some
folders have over 1500 mesgs in them), and it just doesn't stay fixed long
enough to be worthwhile.
I think it's important because with 40 odd folders, I spend a lot of time
checking for new mail that isn't there, and that's a productivity hit.
