I'm not sure if the UI ng would be more appropriate for these, but since
they seem specific to mail-news, I figured I'd post here. BTW, I use the
Classic skin (never cared for that roundy-glowy-apply Modern look) and
don't know if this is specific to Classic or not. I'm using the 050904
win32 build, at least today. :)
1. Attachment icons (i.e imgicon.dll) - I supposed many folks probably
think this is neat, but it doesn't really do much for me. For received
mail, the icons are so small that it's difficult to distinguish some,
making them not very useful, plus they take up space so I see even less
of the file name than I did before, especially when a scrollbar is
there, too. Until either bug 80220 (make attachment box stretchable) or
80221 (tooltips for filenames) is addressed, can the attachment box in
the envelope be made a bit wider, please?
2. When I click on an attachment listed in the envelope, it only gets
highlighted. I have to double-click or right-click to get the open/save
menu. This is annoying. Is this among the current context menu bugs, or
is it designed to work this way?
3. When I click on Get Msg, the throbber in the Nav bar shows active,
but there's nothing going on in the Status bar - no progress meter, no
message indicating that anything is happening. I almost never notice the
throbber. It can take 60 seconds or more to get contact with my ISP's
mail server and unless I remember to look at the throbber, I think the
Get Msg didn't take and am likely to click it again. Seems to me that
there used to be some indication in the Status bar that something was
going on while trying to contact the server (or is my memory faulty?).
I'm not sure if this started happening when the Status/Task bars got
combined or not. Is it going to stay this way?
My queries in bugzilla didn't come up with anything for #2 or #3, but
that doesn't mean there isn't anything in there about them. Should I
file bugs, or are these known issues?
thanks a bunch.
