Get MSG button inactive, if no account selected

Would it be possible to still allow functionality of the "GET MSG" 
button (and associated drop down w/multiple accounts), even if no 
account is highlighted?  It seems silly to have to select and account 
and folder to allow the get message buttton to work.  I have about 8 
mail accounts configured, and could easily check them all that way.
