How to remove blue line from quoted text?

How can I remove the blue line in mail and news that quotes the text?  I
did it with these prefs in earlier builds but it doesn't work in the
latest nightlies:

pref("mailnews.send_plaintext_flowed", false);
pref("mailnews.display.disable_format_flowed_support", true);

Anyone know how I can get rid of them?  All I want is the normal ">" for
quoting.
