inbox in Netscape Messenger, r.75, asked it to empty the trash, and
while the trash is emptied, a random number of messages among the most
recently received are deleted. It's always the last one I got plus some
number of others, basically off the bottom of the list sorted by date.
This is really annoying, and I don't want to have to back up my mail box
every single time I want to delete spam from my trash folder. What is
going on? The messages don't go to the trash folder or elsewhere. They
just disappear forever.

Also, a recent new "feature" is that if I empty the trash folder, the
appearance and order of messages in my inbox is all messed up and no
amount of clicking on sorting preferences fixes this. The only way to
fix this to go to the trash folder, which is empty, and then come back
to the inbox. I've had Netscape installed on my computer for months,
under Win98, and have never seen either of these before. The second
problem is just annoying. The first is serious, and I need a fix for
it. Thanks.

Ken
