Mail filters

Does anyone have documentation for the
message filter code? I'm having trouble
following the code :(

I want to add arbitrary headers, similar to the function
nsMsgSearchAdapter::EncodeImapTerm() with the
   case nsMsgSearchAttrib::OtherHeader:

code. But this doesn't appear to be in the current
code path for IMAP message filters.
