Non block loading for newsgroup

can we have the messenger displayed the local store of the newsgroup 
message headers before it go fetch the new message headers over the net? 
   It's pretty annoying when you just want to check a old message 
without going offline.. Also can make use of the time when loading the 
headers by reading old post you might of missed.
